Graduate Assistant Position for Fall 2020

At least one opening is expected for a graduate assistant starting August 2020, working under the direction of Dr. Pence. Graduate students receive tuition remission and an academic year stipend. Summer salary support is available. Students applying to any graduate program in the School of Health Studies may be eligible for this position, but preference is given to students enrolling in the M.S. in Nutrition Science or the M.S. in Exercise Sport and Movement Science.

 

A PhD program is currently undergoing the state approval process and is expected to be available to interested students in the future, and coursework completed in the M.S. programs will contribute toward coursework requirements for the PhD.

Paid Undergraduate Research Positions Available 

$10/hour, 10 hours/week

We are seeking 2-3 motivated undergraduate students for paid research positions. Selected students will work up to 10 hours per seek on research projects within the lab. Current studies include the following:

  (1) Aging and dysfunction of the innate immune system.

  (2) Regulation of atherosclerosis by immune cell metabolism.

  (3) Plant-derived dietary supplements and inflammation.

  (4) Exercise and regulation of immune function.
